Comets in commanding position against Queensland

The ACT/NSW Country Comets are in a commanding position at the end of the opening day of their Futures League clash against Queensland.

They skittled Queensland for just 119, with former Australian quick Trent Copeland leading the way with 3-27, and then cruised to 0-161 at stumps to already hold a 42-run first-innings lead at Manuka Oval on Monday.

Comets openers Daniel Hughes (66 not out) and Nicholas Larkin (86no) will be looking to turn their starts into big scores when play resumes on Tuesday morning.

All four Comets bowlers got amongst the wickets, with Nathan McAndrew taking 2-33, Gregory West picking up 3-29 and Tom Pinson finishing with 1-29.
