‘Word of warning’: Commuter finds needles stuck in train seat

A commuter on a Melbourne train claimed he found almost 20 needles stuck in a seat while travelling through Melbourne’s west on Tuesday.

Anthony Artusa posted on Twitter to say he noticed the needles stuck into the Metro Trains’ seat after boarding a city loop service at West Footscray station just before 8am on Tuesday.

“Word of warning when travelling on @MetroTrains,” he wrote. “Had a lovely surprise this morning when I sat on a seat with around 20 needles sticking into it.

“They were under the surface so I didn’t see them. Once I sat, they poked out.”
