Cops bust alleged drug lab in Melbourne’s east

Two people have been charged after police busted an alleged drug lab stocked with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of what are believed to MDMA, cannabis, steroids and prescription drugs.

Police arrested the pair at a Bayswater business centre and then searched an address on Scoresby Road in Boronia about 2.20pm on Wednesday.

Police say they found drugs and a large amount of cash in what they allege is a clandestine lab. Investigators also believe the operation was integral to a well-organised and complex steroid trafficking ring.

A 28-year-old Boronia woman was charged with drug trafficking and possession and was bailed to appear in the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on October 3.

A 29-year-old Boronia man was charged with drug manufacturing, trafficking and possession and was remanded to appear in the same court on Thursday.
