Angry Optus customers take to Twitter over website outage

Thousands of frustrated customers have taken to Twitter about an issue with the Optus network that is affecting access to some websites.

Users across Australia reported not being able to access streaming sites such as Netflix and online gaming sites such as Steam and Xbox online, international websites, and more.

It is understood that Optus were made aware of the problem about 3.30pm on Wednesday, but that the issue was ongoing before that. Users reported having trouble accessing websites since midday on Wednesday.

“Our technical team is working through an issue impacting access to some websites,” an Optus spokesman said.
