Star Essendon forward Joe Daniher has been added to the club’s injury list amid fears he’s had a recurrence of a groin injury that derailed his 2018 season.
Daniher has played just four matches for the Bombers this season, making a surprise return to the AFL as a late call-up for Essendon’s round five match against North Melbourne.
The 25-year-old took to the field during last Saturday’s win over Fremantle but reports emerged on Wednesday that he had aggravated his troublesome groin.
Daniher was added to the club’s injury list late on Wednesday, with no further details available about when he would next be ready for selection.
The dynamic Bomber forward is expected to miss Saturday night’s Dreamtime clash against Richmond at the MCG.
Daniher was restricted to seven matches last year and his four games in 2019 have taken him to a career total of 104 matches.
In some positive news for Essendon, forwards Shaun McKernan and Mitch Brown have been listed as available for selection.
