Teen girls hospitalised after taking MDMA on school camp

Two teenage girls have been hospitalised after taking MDMA on a school trip to Mount Buller in Victoria’s alpine region, police say.

Four boys from Seymour College also took the illegal drug, known as ecstasy, at the Alpine Retreat on Stirling Road.

Paramedics were called just after 12.30am on Friday when a teenage girl overdosed, police said. That student and a second girl were taken to hospital.

A total of six people were assessed by paramedics, an Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said.

A Wangaratta Hospital spokesman said two young people were admitted and discharged on Friday.
