Captain Zorko sidelined, but Brisbane continue to build momentum

Brisbane Lions coach Chris Fagan said a hamstring injury to captain Dayne Zorko, sustained in the third quarter in the Lions’ 18-point win over the Western Bulldogs, would be likely to keep him out of the side’s game against the Gold Coast Suns next week.

But he was hopeful the injury was likely to be minor, suggesting Zorko was mainly taken off for precautionary reasons.

Zorko is exceptionally durable, having only missed four matches since his debut in 2012, one of them through suspension.

“He had a very minor sort of tweak of his hamstring and we just decided not to put him back on the ground, we could have made it worse,” Fagan said. “We need a bit more information, but he might be in doubt for this weekend.
