Man charged over crash that killed elderly couple in Sydney’s west

An Indian national has been charged with a string of driving offences over a crash that left an elderly couple dead in western Sydney.

The 22-year-old man, who has an international driver’s licence, was driving a Nissan Pulsar when it collided with a Toyota Hilux ute about 10pm on Saturday at an intersection in Doonside, NSW Police in a statement on Sunday.

The ute was carrying elderly local couple Carmen and Frank Sant.

Ms Sant, 81, died at the scene her husband, 83, was critically injured and taken to Westmead Hospital. He died in hospital on Sunday.
