Man arrested at Brisbane airport after fatal NSW hit-and-run

A man has been arrested at Brisbane International Airport in relation to a fatal hit-and-run crash just the other side of the New South Wales border on Monday.

The 52-year-old was arrested on Tuesday morning and was allegedly trying to flee the country when NSW officers swooped.

He will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday when NSW police will try to extradite him across the border once charges have been laid.

According to NSW police, two motorbikes and a car crashed at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Tweed Valley Way in Tumbulgum, near Tweed Heads, about 3.20pm on Monday.
