Queensland’s south-east is experiencing high temperatures for this time of year, as a high-pressure system pushes hot and dry winds across the region.
Brisbane is expected to hit 32 degrees on Thursday, the Gold Coast 28 degrees, the Sunshine Coast 29 degrees, and Beaudesert, not far from Canungra, 34 degrees.
The warm weather is expected to continue until Friday, when fire conditions will be at their worst.
On Friday Brisbane is headed for 34 degrees, the Gold Coast 30 degrees, the Sunshine Coast 31 degrees and Beaudesert 35 degrees.
None of the 15 significant fires burning statewide on Friday morning are threatening communities.
