One of the detectives investigating the death of David Collin, 53, has described it as “a very cowardly attack on a vulnerable person” and revealed the victim died from severe head injuries.

Emergency services were called to the rear of the Millwell Road Community Centre on Millwell Road East in Maroochydore just after 8.30am on Monday after a member of the public made the grim discovery.

Detective Senior Sergeant Daren Edwards said the victim was seen using a bag with wheels to carry his possessions around, so he may have stood out to passers-by.
