Perth car chase ends with injured police officer, police dog punched in head

As a police vehicle approached the Commodore the driver reversed into the police car causing minor damage.

As the man was removed from the vehicle he struggled violently, with one officer needing two stitches to his hand as a result of injuries he received during the arrest.

The male driver punched police dog Jack to the head and face.

The man received a dog bite to his face and arm and was taken to hospital for treatment.

A 44-year-old man from Morley was charged with steal motor vehicle and drive recklessly, reckless driving to escape pursuit by police, driver of a vehicle failed to comply with a direction to stop (circumstance of aggravation) and obstructing public officers.
