Three lucky Australians, two from Queensland and one from NSW, have each won $50 million after Thursday night’s Powerball jackpot. They were the only punters to score division one tickets across the country.
The winning numbers were 26, 4, 17, 5, 18, 8 and 31, and the Powerball was 9.
The man said he was overwhelmed.
“You buy a ticket into these draws but never think it is actually going to be you,” he said.
“I can’t believe it. I really can’t believe it.”
Even though the man said the news had not sunk in, he had thought of ways to spend the money.
“Well, I’d love to build a house,” he said.
“I’d really love to take some time off work to spend some quality time with my family and do some travelling.
“The rest, I’m going to have to wait and see.”
The Lott spokesperson Lauren Cooney said there was another winner in Queensland who had not yet claimed the jackpot.
“We’re still waiting to hear from our second Queensland winner,” she said.
“So, if you’re in Queensland and you had an entry into last night’s draw, you have 50 million reasons why you should check your ticket as soon as possible.
“If you discover you’re holding the division one winning entry, hold on tight to that ticket and phone 13 18 68 as soon as possible so that we can start the prize claim process.”
