Police are treating the death of a couple found dead in their Doyles Creek home on Thursday as a murder suicide.
Following a concern for welfare call, officers from the Hunter Valley Police District were called to a property on Thursday afternoon, police said on Friday.
There, the bodies of a 49-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man were found inside a house on the property.
Both had been shot.
Police believe that, at this stage, the man shot the woman before killing himself. However, investigations continue.
