Price picked Eugene’s Pick as a group mare a while ago

Kembla Grange trainer Luke Price has ridden enough good mares to know he hasn’t seen the best of Eugene’s Pick yet and it is becoming frustrating.

The Mastercraftsman five-year-old mare has won three of her 16 starts and even though she was beaten at the Randwick midweeks last time, Price and his father Robert had no hesitation about heading to the Angst Stakes at Randwick on Saturday.

“She is a black type mare,” Luke Price said. “I rode some real good ones when I was working for Guy Walter and she is a lot like Johan’s Toy that was placed in a Doncaster.

“When she goes out to work I make sure I’m on her because it just gives you a good feeling. I just want to get that on race day when she wins.
