Simon Garlick poised for Dockers CEO gig

Unsuccessful candidates for Fremantle’s vacant chief executive job are being informed they are out of the race, with the Dockers poised to appoint former Western Bulldogs CEO Simon Garlick to the job.

Fremantle have refused to confirm the decision, but several sources have told The Age they expect Garlick to land the role.

The 44-year-old was Bulldogs CEO between 2010-15 before joining Bastion EBA as CEO, leading the company that specialises in sponsorship and emotional marketing.

He also played 181 games for the Sydney Swans and the Western Bulldogs between 1994-2004, including playing in the 1996 grand final for the Swans.
