Race-by-race preview and tips for Gosford on Wednesday

How to play it:  Kiss The Bride to WIN
Odds & Evens: Odds

Race 2: MAIDEN SW (1100m)

Bjorn Baker and Tim Clark combine with the talented 7. Let It Pour who looks to have returned in great order off a very impressive trial over 735m at Randwick where the filly sat back and showed a brilliant turn of foot late under no riding. She has form around the likes of Dawn Passage, Libertini and Funstar and will be winning with a bit left in the tank and set to tackle bigger races this preparation.

Dangers: The only danger to the short-priced favourite is the Lee Curtis trained 6. Giselle Anne, which almost broke through last start trying to lead all the way over 1300m at Hawkesbury but getting run down late. She is the leader in the race and, dropping back to 1100m, she will run it at a strong pace and will make them chase.

How to play it:  Let It Pour &  Giselle Anne Quinella
Odds & Evens: Split

Race 3: MAIDEN HCP (1100m)

Even maiden with most runners having the required form to take it out. Liked the return of 1. Matowatakpe last start over 1000m at Wyong. The gelding showed blistering speed when they jumped to take up the running and was only run down late. Will take a heap of improvement off that performance and finds the front without having to work early, which will make it hard to run down staying at the 1100m.

Dangers: Liked the debut of the Snowden trained 5. Crimlet over 1200m at Gosford. Sat just off the pace and hit the line well behind Instant Attraction, who has run well since. Can sit closer to the speed in the small field and back to 1100m is ideal. Nash Rawiller gets the ride on first starter 2. Pacific Ocean coming off two trial  wins and looks to be above average.

How to play it: 1. Matowatakpe to WIN
Odds & Evens: Odds

Race 4: 3YO MAIDEN SW (1200m)

A few first starters that showed nice potential at the trials. Impressed with the trials of the John O’Shea trained filly 6. Lillemor highlighted by the latest trial over 1045m at Randwick, where the daughter of Hallowed Crown jumped to the front and, when asked for a small effort late, responded nicely to win by over 4 lengths. Gets the advantage of the inside barrier and will be prominent throughout.

Dangers: The Gerald Ryan trained 5. Hyannis Port looks ready to go off the sole trial at Rosehill over 905m where the daughter of Redoutes Choice jumped straight to the front and was not tested to the line recording a nice win in solid time. Should roll across from the wide draw and get the race run to suit.

How to play it: 6. Lillemor to WIN
Odds & Evens: Split

Race 5: CLASS 2 HCP (1100m)

Found it very hard to split Blazing and Big Parade here but settled on the Lee Curtis-trained 1. Blazing off a very nice trial over 1000m at Hawkesbury where the gelding never got out of first gear sitting handy to the speed and hard held on the line. Has displayed great speed in his races and, with the services of 3kg claiming apprentice Tom Sherry on board, I feel he will be ridden aggressively from the wide draw to take up the running.

Dangers: Lightly raced Clare Cunningham-trained 2. Big Parade  has shown great potential at two career starts and the trials leading in gives every indication the colt has improved with the time away from the races. Draws to get a nice run behind the speed and will be strong late.

How to play it: 1. Blazing to WIN
Odds & Evens: Split

Race 6: BM70 HCP (1600m)

Graham Hoy-trained 1. Allzin appeals here at each way value in a very even field over the 1600m. Fought on well over 1600m last start in the same grade and staying at the distance here is ideal. If Belinda Hodder is able to find some cover early from a tricky draw, the gelding will be strong late.

Dangers: Ashley Morgan retains the ride on the Luke Hilton trained 2. Monsieur Macron. Has been running consistently and the step up to 1600m looks to suit. Will be able to settle closer to the speed from an ideal barrier.

How to play it: 1. Allzin EACH WAY
Odds & Evens: Split

Race 7: BM64 HCP (1000m)

Going with the class galloper of the field here in the form of the Bjorn Baker-trained 3. Edison, which raced in some high quality races last preparation against the likes off Mandela, True Detective and Shadow Hero. Expecting the colt to break through here and aimed at some bigger races this preparation.

Dangers: Brad Widdup trained 9. Lagarde should be peaking third up after a good run last start over the 1000m trying to lead all the way. Finds the front here without having to work too hard and will give them something to catch.

How to play it: 3. Edison to WIN
Odds & Evens: Split
