Peachies chases a dream result for veteran trainer

On one of the most picturesque and progressive country tracks in NSW, Taree’s faithful will be hoping the new year brings a change of fortune for a popular home-town mare still trying to break through heading into her 19th start.

Four-year-old Peachies Dream, trained by wily Bob Milligan and with leading rider Grant Buckley aboard for the first time, is second up in a competitive maiden handicap over 1000m.

A daughter of Dream Ahead, Peachies Dream has been placed 10 times, incredibly only finishing further back than fourth once since making her debut nearly two years ago up until she was spelled in late July.

Typically, she didn’t do much from a wide gate resuming here 11 days ago, but always improves with a run under her belt, and stable confidence will be up, although in Line Up Girls and three-year-old filly Sophie’s Lass she tackles some smart rivals.
