Perth students take to streets in nationwide climate action protest

Hundreds of climate activists have taken to the streets of Perth as a part of a nationwide action to protest Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s response to the bushfire crisis.

Perth university group “Uni Students for Climate Justice” promised to disrupt business in the CBD as a part of their demonstration.

Organisers said the action was a “public display of anger against the climate change driven mega-fires, and the government’s criminal inactivity”.

Protesters started the march at Murray Street about 5.30pm on Friday, calling for the Prime Minister to be sacked, more funding to Australian firefighters, and relief for those in affected communities.
