Mascot warehouse burns as fire at Lane Cove Public School extinguished

Multiple fire crews were called to a northern Sydney public school after a hall went up in flames on Tuesday afternoon, while others were battling to extinguish a warehouse fire near Sydney Airport as of 10pm.

The fire is continuing to burn at a two-level warehouse on Coward Street in Mascot, but surrounding buildings were not in danger, Fire and Rescue NSW said.

Eighteen trucks comprising of 70 firefighters were called to extinguish the blaze in an industrial area to the west of Mascot Station, where much of the suburb’s residences live in high-density apartments nearby.
