‘Fun-loving, talented’: Family mourns Queensland teen hit-and-run victim

A teenager killed in a hit-and-run on a highway north of Toowoomba on Thursday night has been remembered as “a fun-loving and talented soul”.

Lachlan Douglas was walking along the New England Highway near the intersection of Reushle Road, Geham, about 8.30pm when he was hit by the vehicle.

A southbound motorist found the 18-year-old dead a short time later and contacted emergency services, leading to police closing the road for about six hours into Friday morning.

In a statement, the Geham teen’s family said he was “was loved and admired by many”.
