Elbow injury for Demon Brayshaw

Melbourne midfielder Angus Brayshaw is in doubt for the Demons’ first pre-season series match after damaging the ligament in his left elbow last week.

Brayshaw wore an arm brace and trained away from the main group as Melbourne went through their paces at Gosch’s Paddock on Monday morning, with the club later confirming the reason for Brayshaw’s limited duties.

“Angus attempted to smother a kick during a match simulation drill on Friday, and scans have showed there is some moderate ligament damage to his left elbow,” Dees football chief Josh Mahoney said on the club’s website.

“Angus will be wearing a protective device on his left arm, which is part of the management of the injury.
