A man has been charged with stalking after he allegedly used personal details found on his victims’ social media profiles to leave them explicit voicemails.
The 37-year-old man was charged with 11 counts of stalking on Friday.
Detectives from the Family Violence Task Force allege the man found personal details on the online profiles of 11 women between September 3, 2018 and October 4 last year.
He allegedly used this information to contact the women and leave them a number of explicit messages and voicemails.
The victims were all aged in their teens and 20s and were from Melbourne, Ballarat and Pakenham.
The alleged offender, from Deer Park, was due to face Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday.
“Police urge the community to be cautious when displaying their personal details on their social media accounts,” a police spokeswoman said.
