In 2018 Luxuride was fined $70,000 and Mr Ngo, also known as Khoi Nguyen Ngo and Nguyen Khoi, was fined $30,000 in the Perth Magistrates Court after being convicted of 23 offences under the act and six offences under Australian Consumer Law.

The Commissioner of Consumer Protection has been pursuing Luxuride and Mr Ngo, who is believed to have left the country, for offences under the act since 2018.
