Former Cat to trial with Blues in practice match

Carlton will trial former Geelong wingman Jordan Cunico in next Thursday night’s practice match against Collingwood at Ikon Park as he joins a four-way battle for a spot on the Blues’ list via the pre-season supplemental selection mechanism.

Cunico, 23, has joined former Tiger Callum Moore, former Bulldog Lukas Webb and young Northern Knights utility Ryan Sturgess at Blues training and will play in the “six-quarter” practice match at Ikon Park against the Magpies.

Blues coach David Teague said everyone who is available to play with get a run in that game and the four candidates will have a chance to impress the Blues’ list management team ahead of the March 13 deadline.

“We have had our eye on them for a while and we are looking forward to seeing what they can do,” Teague said.
