Man burnt, suburban home gutted after ‘explosions’ in Thomastown home

A man was treated for burns after fire gutted a suburban home in Melbourne’s north overnight.

Firefighters were called to the Emma Court property in Thomastown about 11.15am on Saturday after receiving reports of explosions.

Surrounding homes were also threatened by flames due to the ferocity of the blaze, an MFB spokeswoman said.

“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus commenced an aggressive interior attack, while other
crews searched the home for occupants,” she said.
