Police are hunting for “five outstanding” people in relation to the fatal shooting of Sydney teenager Omar Elomar, a court has heard.
An 18-year-old man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, briefly faced Central Local Court on Wednesday morning after his initial charge of concealing a serious indictable offence in relation to the alleged murder was upgraded to a charge of murder.
The charge relates to a “joint criminal enterprise”, the man’s solicitor Omar Juweinat said, with “a number of offenders” still not apprehended.
“There are five persons outstanding at this point that police are aware of. The investigation is still taking place in relation to this homicide,” police prosecutor Liam Edwards said.
