Queenslanders to get $50 power bill rebate for another three years

Queensland’s Labor government has extended an annual $50 rebate on household power bills for the next three years, at a cost of $300 million.

The rebate started in 2018, and Deputy Premier Jackie Trad announced on Sunday that it would continue for a further three years, with the rebate automatically added as a credit to electricity bills later this year.

Treasurer Jackie Trad announced on Sunday the $50 electricity rebate would continue for another three years.

The $50 credit will apply to homeowners, tenants, customers who receive an electricity bill from their landlord or body corporate, and customers in communities with card-operated meters.
