Cottoning on to some work in Geelong during pandemic

Scott told the Howie Games podcast during the week he was embarrassed by the coverage his decision received at the time.

“We were in a situation where we were standing down all of our coaches and to be honest, I actually thought that included me anyway, but when it became clear it didn’t, it was a no-brainer to say ‘well, no, no’ – We’ve just got to work through this, the finances and my situation can be worked through when the crisis has been averted,” Scott said.

“Until then we’ve just got to take the attitude of whatever it takes to get through it.”

The Cats’ board members also tipped in their own money to create a system where staff members could pick up meals at a reduced price with the club determined to look after the welfare of their people.
