Bring your own soap as Victoria’s parks reopen to the public

Parks Victoria is reminding the public that it is their responsibility to bring items such as soap and sanitiser if they head bush to enjoy the state’s newly loosened social restrictions.

Victorian parks have been subject to rapidly changing regulations since COVID-19 restrictions were introduced in mid-March, with a number closed to the public.

A Parks Victoria spokesperson said it took the health and safety of visitors, staff, volunteers and customers “very seriously” but it was asking visitors to take responsibility for their own hygiene when using parks.

“Parks Victoria always encourages visitors to prepare when visiting parks, which includes practicing personal health and hygiene measures by bringing personal hygiene items such as sanitiser and disinfectant when visiting our facilities,” said the spokesperson.
