Return of King another chance for Dunn to deliver more Sydney success

Murwillumbah-based trainer Matthew Dunn’s decision to park a team of horses in Sydney while the coronavirus restrictions are in place has already reaped rewards with a listed win, and he’ll produce a smart three-year-old in Atlantic King at Hawkesbury on Thursday.

The gelding, who broke his maiden status in Brisbane, has been to the races only four times but he served notice of his ability with a closing third behind Rule The World and the talented Grand Piano in a 1400m event at Rosehill on November 2.

Atlantic King resurfaces in the Carrington Road Stockfeed Handicap (1400m) at Hawkesbury and Dunn has had him fitted with two barrier trials at Rosehill.

In the latest, he finished a length astern of Secretly Awesome, who subsequently went to day one of the Scone carnival and won, quite easily, in the 1030m hit-out.
