Stable-switcher Vallauris on mission to deliver for Dale

The rain clouds might be circling along the South Coast, but a somewhat slow-maturing former Victorian-based gelding is ready to shine a light on punters at Monday’s feature Moruya meeting.

Three-year-old Vallauris is embarking on his second start for leading trainer Matt Dale, in a Class 1 & Maiden Plate at set weights, since switching from the James Cummings stable.

And if his first run at his new home is any barometer – working home well in a handy Class 2 – connections will be full of confidence stepping him up to 1650 metres, and carrying 2.5kg less.

Vallauris, by prolific US sire Medaglio d’Oro, won his maiden as a hot favourite over 2200m at Sale last prep before being beaten under three lengths in a much deeper BM 70 at Ballarat.
