Steven ‘managed’ as Geelong Cats make six changes

Geelong have been forced into making a whopping six changes to their side to face Fremantle, with the club opting to leave out midfielder Jack Steven.

The Cats’ five other exclusions, aside from the injured Darcy Fort, were already known with Gary Ablett returning to Victoria for family reasons and Joel Selwood, Luke Dalhaus and Jordan Clark all injured.

As flagged earlier in the week Mitch Duncan and Tom Stewart have returned to the side from injury and are joined by debutant Brad Close, Charlie Constable, Lachie Fogarty and Lachie Henderson.

Steven, who was injured in a stabbing incident before the season resumed, has played four games since round three. The club listed him as “managed”.
