Former City of Perth councillor’s brother charged with fraud

The brother of former City of Perth councillor Jim Adamos has been charged with fraud by police as the investigation into allegations of criminal misconduct associated with people linked to the former council continues.

Financial Crimes Squad detectives allege Arthur Adamos, 61, and Sofia Adamos, 60, who both live in Stirling, engaged in fraudulent conduct with Jim Adamos in order to vote in City of Perth elections.

Police will allege the pair, in 2017, and in concert with Jim Adamos, falsified a corporate nomination form, fraudulently claiming to be involved in the nominated business and to occupy the nominated business premises located within the City of Perth local government boundary.

The nominated business and the property listed on the form were under the control of Jim Adamos.
