‘Unlike anything we’ve seen’: New brewery set to shake up the Perth CBD

Perth hospitality guru Andy Freeman and his Sneaker & Jeans team are not ones to die wondering, as evidenced by their existing venues such as Mexican party lair Caballitos and Japanese underground bar Goody Two’s.

So expect big things from the company’s first crack at a brewery – Pirate Life Perth – a pub like no other set to open in the CBD this summer.

This is the South Australian brewery’s first foray in WA after Michael Cameron, Jack Cameron and Jared Proudfoot established the brand here but moved to Adelaide to open the brewery in 2014.

Construction of the multi-level brewery at the former Sony building on Murray Street began this week. Once complete, up to 1000 patrons will have plenty of room to eat and drink in the 752sqm space, with three bars, two kitchens (one casual and a 50-person restaurant), a beer garden, private dining room and adjoining retail space selling beer and merchandise, while also housing the new Sneakers & Jeans office.
