With his Melbourne group 1 dream shattered, I Am Superman was straight on a truck back to Sydney last Saturday to regroup and target the Shannon Stakes.
Peter and Paul Snowden believe former Irish galloper is up to the top level and thought they had found the right race in the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes. Now they are looking for the next suitable race at the top level.
“Unfortunately he missed the field by one, we got the truck to wait until the scratchings went interim [at 7.30am] last Saturday before leaving and knew the Shannon was here for him,” Paul Snowden said. “Under the COVID rules he had a couple of days at the farm and ticked over and galloped really well here [at Randwick] on Tuesday.
“The boys want to win a group 1 with him and he is going to win a nice race, this race will give us an idea where we can go next.”
