Police from Logan’s child protection unit have found a 11-year-old girl, who went missing almost a week ago.
The girl and an 11-year-old boy were reported missing to police on Saturday evening after they ran away, Logan child protection unit Detective Inspector Mark White said on Friday.
The boy was found safe on Wednesday but couldn’t help police find the girl, who was missing for almost a week. She was located on Friday afternoon.
“Police would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance,” the service said in a statement.
Inspector White had said the pair had been on a day visit to the Cedar Creek Falls, and were last seen at a Caltex service station in Ormeau later that night on Saturday.
He had expresssed concern such a young girl was out without supervision, and he considered her “very vulnerable”.
