Kosciuszko runners looking for another peak performance

The much-celebrated Kosciuszko at Royal Randwick can get another reputation boost in Sunday’s Goulburn Cup, where two runners back up and are ready to strike third-up.

On a track likely to be well into heavy range, tough local six-year-old Al Mah Haha and Canberra five-year-old Handle The Truth, who won The Kosciuszko in 2019, both look supremely placed over the feature 1400m.

Ala Mah Haha could easily lay claim to being one of NSW country’s most under-rated gallopers.

He may have only won twice from 21 starts but has run second seven times, often narrowly and without luck, including a Country Championship qualifier, and then, of course, beaten a nose in the Country Championship final at Randwick back in autumn.
