Man drowns on Sydney’s northern beaches

A man has drowned in Pittwater, in Sydney’s north, on Saturday morning.

NSW Ambulance were called to Newport Anchorage Marina about 11am following reports that a body was floating face down in the water.

The man is believed to be aged in his 60s.

Bystanders had first noticed the body and attempted to perform CPR on the man before paramedics arrived, but he could not be revived.

Investigations into the man’s death continue and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
