Nestor hopes Activation can keep on ‘upward spiral’ at Warren

Promising four-year-old Activation finally got the monkey off his back last start and Dubbo-based trainer Kody Nestor wouldn’t be surprised to see his gelding take another step at Warren today.

Everything that could have gone wrong, did go wrong at Coonamble first up. He missed the start, looped the field, hung on the turn. It was a disaster. However, Activation was quick to atone for that defeat in trouncing his rivals on his home track last Saturday.

He jumps from maiden company to a benchmark 58, but it’s a winnable race for the former Chris Waller-trained galloper.

“Activation is on the upward spiral, his last start win was good, he has to go up in grade and up in weight but he is a horse capable of doing that,” said Nestor.

Meanwhile, Nestor will be represented by One Pound in the meeting’s feature race, the Cotton Cup (1600m).
