Highway reopened after fatal crash north-west of Brisbane

The D’Aguilar Highway has been reopened after a serious traffic accident at Harlin, north-west of Brisbane, in which a 20-year-old man was killed.

Paramedics attended the single-vehicle rollover of a westbound Hyundai station wagon on the highway about 2.30am on Monday, treating two patients, police said.

The 20-year-old, from Mount Kilcoy, was declared dead at the scene. A 30-year-old Toogoolawah woman with a leg injury was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

“The vehicle appears to have left the road between Kilcoy and the Brisbane Valley Highway and rolled down an embankment,” police said.

The highway was closed between the Brisbane Valley Highway and the Esk-Kilcoy Road into the morning, with detours in place along Gregors Creek Road.

Forensic crash unit investigations are continuing.
