Vandyke tells Alligator Blood’s owners to find a new trainer

“[Alligator Blood] should be right to race again in about four to six months but David has told me he doesn’t want to train for me any more,” Endresz said.

“We had a meeting this week and he told us that, so we are making other plans for all our horses.

“We have got a number of horses in his stable and they will all be moving to trainers in Queensland and when Al is ready to come back he will be going to a Sydney or Melbourne trainer.

“It is disappointing because David has done a great job with Alligator Blood and is a bloody good trainer.”

Alligator Blood has won nine of his 15 starts, including the Australian Guineas, and was runner-up in a Caulfield Guineas and Silver Eagle. He was disqualified from his Magic Millions Guineas victory after a positive swab.

Stradbroke-winning trainer Nat McCall and young horseman Bill Healey will get the majority of Endresz’s stock as the transition process takes place over the next month.

“There are some nice horses there that we think could be up to taking the step up to some big races so it is an exciting time for Billy and Nat,” Endresz said.

“We think Al can be competitive in all the big races, so it just makes sense for him to be based in Sydney or Melbourne from now on where all those races are run.

“We are already talking to stables and I’m sure we will have no trouble finding a new trainer.”
