Lengthy delays are clearing after a crash caused the closure of three southbound lanes of the Gateway Motorway at Boondall ahead of the afternoon peak.
Emergency services were called to the scene, south of the Sandgate Road overpass exit, about 3.30pm after reports of the vehicle and motorcycle crash.
Motorists were warned to expect long delays and avoid the area if possible, police said.
Paramedics transported three patients to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.
While the crash had been cleared by about 5pm, the Department of Transport and Main Roads’ Queensland Traffic service advised that delays had stretched back about 16 kilometres to the Bruce Highway at Griffin.
The congestion was “clearing well” about 30 minutes later, the agency said in a later update.
