Jarrod Austin has only had Nikohli Beagle and Havelka for a short period of time but the Warwick Farm-based trainer has both gallopers firing ahead of their second-up assignments at Nowra today.
Nikohli Beagle landed in Austin’s care at the same time as Looks Like Elvis with the owner choosing to move his horses from Queensland to Sydney and although he came with a reputation as a rogue, with a barrier manners warning over his head, Austin wonders whether it was simply immaturity as he hasn’t put a foot wrong since arriving.

The four-year-old turned heads with an exceptional win at Orange first up, putting five lengths on his rivals.
“I expected a big run, but the way he let down was pretty impressive and he still had another gear up his sleeve, winning as he liked,” said Austin. “He’s a no fuss little character, his work has been good and has come through that win in good shape.
