Homicide squad make arrest following death of man in Hastings

A man has died after he was found with critical injuries near the main street of a town on the Mornington Peninsula.

Emergency services were called to Queen Street in Hastings, about 70 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD, just before 7am on Monday.

The 29-year-old man from Hastings was found with upper body injuries outside a car service and repair shop. Paramedics attempted to resuscitate him but he died at the scene.

Detectives from the homicide squad arrested a 25-year-old man, also from Hastings, on Monday afternoon.
