The bodies of three men have been recovered after their boat overturned in waters off Wollongong, south of Sydney.
Family members of the men alerted police early on Sunday after they failed to return to Bellambi, having set off for a fishing trip at 2pm the previous day.
An extensive air and sea search was launched, and located the overturned boat off the coast of Port Kembla on Sunday afternoon.
One body was discovered off Bellambi Point, while two others were found in the overturned boat, a police spokeswoman said.
Acting Inspector Jayson Joerdens said two of the men were aged in their 40s, while one was in his 20s.
“These were local men who knew the area,” he said on Sunday afternoon.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
