Four dead, two fighting for life after Truganina head-on collision

Four people have died and two others are fighting for life after a two-vehicle collision in Truganina, west of Melbourne, on Thursday evening.

Investigators said a sedan was travelling east along Dohertys Road when it collided head-on with a small truck near Forsyth Road about 7.30pm.

Police have confirmed two people died at the scene of the crash, while another two died as they arrived in hospital.

Two other occupants of the car are in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The truck driver was taken to hospital for observation.

Major Collison Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
